"Why Teach and Preach the Word"

Text: Matthew 28

Introduction:

1. The Great Commission... We as believers, Have a command to go...

Matthew 22:9 "Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage."

Matthew 28:19 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"

Mark 16:15 "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."

Colossians 1:23 "If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;"

Romans 10:18 "But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world."

Acts 13:46-47 "Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. 47 For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth."

It is CLEAR from the Bible that we are to take the Word of God to a LOST people... Those that do not know the Lord as their Saviour... Are YOU doing that today???

2. People Unsaved or Saved, Have a LACK of KNOWLEDGE, and many REJECT KNOWLEDGE

Turn now to Hosea 4:1-6 (just after Daniel just before Joel)

Isaiah 5:13 "Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst."

Jeremiah 4:22 "For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge."

We today Put our Faith and Hope in things that can not save, or Give lasting Peace

Isaiah 45:20 "Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye that are escaped of the nations: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god that cannot save."

Proverbs 19:2 "Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth."

Job 36:12 "But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge."

Hosea 4:1 "Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land."

Hosea 6:6 "For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings."

As life progresses, we have a tendency to forget God... Interesting things take place when we turn from the Lord... (I did not say good things) We do not just hold our place, we slide back toward the Things of the World... (The World is consistently drawing us back toward it, Our nature reverts back to the Flesh) God's People today are destroyed because they lack the Knowledge of God...

Why teach and Preach the Word today??? What direction are you going today???

If you say you love God and are saved, Then Why aren't you being obedient to His Word???

Saved people go to church, Saved people pray, Saved people fellowship with other believers, Saved people Read their Bibles... The UNSAVED do none of these things... Why Do you live like the UNSAVED if in fact you are saved, OR are you SAVED at all?

John 14:15 "If ye love me, keep my commandments."

Are you keeping the Commandments of the Lord today... OR Will you be destroyed, for the Lack of Knowledge?
